I have been visiting Forte dei Marmi every summer since I was a child, and before me, my father did the same. Less than an hour from the city on the Tuscan Coast, it becomes “Florence by the sea” in the summer, attracting families from Florence, Milan and beyond. My first jewelry sales were the cotton friendship bracelets that my sister and I would create and sell from our cabina on the beach. My collection, FORTE Beads, is named after Forte dei Marmi, a place that has been an important part of my kids’ childhoods, too. It’s a place for lazy days and early evening bicycle rides along the lungomare.
